Ralph Hollis Ralph is a Research Professor at Carnegie Mellon University and Director of the Microdynamics Systems Lab. He is a robotics pioneer, having built one of the world’s very first robots, Newt, in the early 70’s, which was featured in a cover story in the computing magazine Byte.
Ralph is a prolific inventor of groundbreaking robotic systems, including Ballbot, a revolutionary locomotion platform, and Maglev Haptics, a best-in-class input device for human computer interaction. He synthesizes novel robotic technology directly from physical principles, leading to fundamentally new systems.
Ralph is a member of Bossa Nova’s Board of Advisors, where he helps us commercialize game-changing robotic systems.
